Service Station
The Service Station is a great place to drink coffee, eat a light meal, eat a dessert, socialize, drink non-coffee, go to cool events in their massive auditorium, and listen to the sweet jazz in the front of the coffee shop. If you have not been to the service station before, I highly recommend it! It’s on Holland and Newport Highway 2 and on Fridays and Saturdays from 7-10 they have a sweet jazz combo playing. Tonight I played at the Service Station with a little combo I’ve been playing with all summer. It’s a fun little gig and I enjoy getting some exposure even though it’s just a hobby of mine. Afterwards, I went to Wendy’s with some friends to find out their sit down part closed but their drive-thru open. So we went through and ate on the curb. The sad part, Wendy’s was slower in the drive-thru when the actual restaurant is closed various when they have people to serve inside as well. Maybe it was just late. FYI, I actually played at the service station last night according to the current time.
